About Smalltown Boy AI

Smalltown Boy AI (smalltown-boy.org) is an independent web tool that makes AI videos of the Smalltown Boy dance meme. You upload one photo of each pet, or of you and a friend, and it returns a short vertical video in which the two take turns screaming up into the camera, swap places, then dance side by side in an 80s style and lunge at the lens. It is a small independent site, not run by any of the companies, artists or creators named on this page.

Why We Built It

The Smalltown Boy dance became an AI pet meme on Instagram and TikTok in October 2026, and making your own version meant writing long prompts in a general AI video app and retrying until the beats came out right. We wanted a page where you only bring two photos: the routine, the camera moves and the beat are already set up.

How It Works

Your two photos and a fixed script of the routine (first scream, the swap, the side-by-side dance, a low shot from the ground and the lunge) go to ByteDance's Seedance 2.0 Mini video model, which animates both of them and adds an 80s-style instrumental beat. You pick a setting and 6, 10 or 15 seconds; the video is 9:16 at 720p, and you can download it or share it to TikTok, where you add the Smalltown Boy sound. Each video uses credits, and credits go back to your balance if a video fails.

What We Are Not

Smalltown Boy AI is not affiliated with Bronski Beat, Jimmy Somerville, their record label, TikTok, Instagram, ByteDance or the creators who started the trend. Our videos do not contain the song. The trend clips shown on this site are credited to their creators and are there to explain the trend.

Using It Responsibly

Only upload photos you have the right to use, get permission before putting another person in a video, never upload photos of children, and label your clip as AI-generated when you share it.
